Performing two selections from the same time period is acceptable; however these musical selections should vary in style (i.e.: Bach, Concerto and a short show or encore piece). Memorization is required for two pieces and optional for the remaining piece. An original, published copy of the music must be presented to the judges at the competition. Contestant must provide own accompanist. (When possible, accompanists with more than one contestant will be scheduled as close as possible within the same level. If an accompanist’s name is not on the entry form, adjacent performances cannot be scheduled. Contestants are responsible for notifying accompanists of the Accompanist Schedule. Accompanists’ requests to alter the published schedule will not be honored).

All performers in the violin competition will receive participation diplomas. Prizes will be awarded by a Jury whose members are well known musicians and instructors from Central Ohio. The Jury will evaluate both the technical aspect and the expressive quality of the interpretation. If necessary, the competitors may be asked by the Jury members to perform only excerpts from some works. All of the decisions of the Jury are final and non-appealable. Each award-winner of the violin competition must receive his or her prize personally.
