Cantilena Concerts, a division of Women in Music – Columbus, seeks interns for two positions for 2010-2011:
Women in Music – Columbus [WMC] seeks qualified applicants for two internship positions with the Cantilena Concert Series. These positions present an opportunity to gain experience in arts programming and promotions with an established and critically-acclaimed concert series. Applicants qualified for both positions may apply for a combined position.
Position 1 – Image Coordinator
Duties will include – selection and coordination of projected images to be presented in tandem with three concerts on the Cantilena Concert Series; coordinating projection resources and arrangements with the concert venue(s); obtaining permissions to display copyrighted images; and operating, or monitoring the operation of, projection devices. Digital projection is assumed. [i.e., from laptop, or other electronic device.]
Applicants should have or be working towards a degree in visual art or art history at the graduate level. General familiarity with classical music is strongly desired. Experience with nonprofit organizations is a plus. $200 per concert stipend
Position 2 – Administrative Coordinator
Duties will include – directing work of graphic designers for promotional materials; overseeing printing and distribution of promotional materials, programs, and tickets; initiating press releases in a timely fashion for each concert; arranging hospitality for out-of-town artists; distributing artist fees in conjunction with the WMC treasurer; and overseeing ticket desk operations at each concert.
Relevant experience – ticket sales or box office experience; customer service in phones; public relations, etc. Position calls for outgoing, friendly personality. $400 per concert stipend
Successful candidates will begin during the month of March, 2010; the third Cantilena concert of the 2009-2010 season takes place on March 21, 2010.
